The vocabulary

The chip rows are not free text. They are a vocabulary the studio reasons about.

Every option belongs to an axis. The cuff axis holds barrel, rolled, ribbed, elasticated and no cuff — five answers to one question — and axes are what the studio understands.

Hover to see what a term means

Hover a chip to see what it means. Most options show a drawing — a technical flat, on the same garment at the same scale as their neighbours, so the only thing that changes is the thing the chip controls. The terms that need one show a written definition too. Those exist because a model could not reliably tell a welt pocket from an inseam one, and the same sentence is sent to the model and shown to you. Where a name is unambiguous — v-neck, boat neck — there is no definition, because one for every term would bury the few that matter.

Hovering the mock chip in the collar row shows a drawing of a mock neck
Hovering a chip. mock in the collar row shows what a mock neck is, drawn. The same definition is what the model is told.

A chip click is remembered as a requirement, not just text in a box. The choice travels with the design and reaches the tech pack, which states it rather than guessing it from the picture.

That is the difference between a pack that says “elasticated cuff” and a pack whose two diagrams disagree about what they can see.
